Cottage closing season :(

Well, its that time of year again where the weather is getting cooler, days are getting shorter and the leaves are turning colours. It's time to close the cottage :(

Here are some useful "Closing Tips" to make sure you can enjoy your home away from home next year.

1. Ensure your pipes are ready for the cold/freezing weather.
2. Inspect your roof, fix any missing shingles.
3. Secure all windows and doors, fill any potential gaps with caulking.
4. Clear/Clean your gutters.
5. If your cottage has a wood burning fireplace...clean it out good!
6. Service your septic tank.
7. Clean out kitchen, fridge and cupboards of perishable foods and dried goods.
8. Remove all valuables.
9. Unplug major appliances that won't be used until next season.
10. Clean up the outside, remove rubbish and garbage, secure all tools and accessories.
11. Take pictures of inside and out to help with potential insurance issues while your cottage is closed for the season.

Installed Sign (with LED lights)

I installed my first Real Estate listing sign last night, Saturday Sept. 3. Had to do it in the evening so I could angle the LED lights correctly...that's what dedication looks like.

Visited the neighbours and placed one of my "Door Hangers" on their gate or door with a introduction note about myself and the property.

Absolutely incredible homes in this area, all custom built with 2-4 acres per lot and great people. I met a group having a BBQ, they showed me their property and I fell in love. This is where I would live...ahhh one day :)
