Most people assume a mortgage broker’s job is to find the lowest rate. While rate is part of the conversation, it’s not what actually gets most borrowers approved or keeps them approved through the process.

After working with self-employed borrowers and rural clients across British Columbia, I’ve found that the questions you ask your mortgage broker will shape your outcome far more than the rate you start with.
