I have worn many hats in my working career. The 2 most pertinent to my career as a Real Estate Salesperson is as a dump truck driver in GTA, and a Sanitary Engineer in Jamaica. Basically, a Sanitary Engineer among other things designs residential waste water plants/systems. Hold up, back it up one second, did you say a truck driver? Yep, you heard me correctly, drove a dump truck for 3-4 years right after graduating in Engineering at U of T. And I still love to drive.
Well, since this is about me, here is how I finally admitted who I am. It was my wife who called me out while writing the real estate exams. You guessed it, she called me a nerd, and I said “nope, don’t think so”. She said, “yes you are” and I said, “no I’m not, I’m an original Jamaican rude bwoy”. Then said she said, “you are a nerd, and do you know how I know, because you keep complaining about not getting perfect marks”. My response was “yeah yeah whatever, everyone one wants a perfect mark”. Then she said, “actually you are a math nerd because you keep on complaining about not enough math questions on the exams, actually, you are my little math nerd”. At that point what was I to say, it was then that I finally admitted that yes, I am a math nerd. But most importantly for my clients, I will drive around all day looking for that right property, do all the math, research, and comparative analysis to find the right price, and the detail/data side of me will dot all the is and cross all the ts to manage the risks/opportunities/costs involved when purchasing a property.
