🏆 The WORST HRV I’ve ever encountered… yikes! 😷
Your HRV filters & exchanges the very air you breathe every day. Neglect it and you’re basically breathing through a dusty sock. 🧦 🤢
Pro tip:
Every time you swap your furnace filter → clean the HRV filters too.
Once a year (late summer) → deep-clean the core.
Keep it fresh, keep it running for years, and breathe easy knowing your home isn’t a science experiment gone wrong 🫁✨

One of my favourite things about being a home inspector is the cool tech I get to play with every day. The makes roof inspections so easy. 😎
Water is the biggest threat to your house, so always make sure it can drain off and away from the structure quickly and easily. Here are some aerial pictures that show debris preventing proper drainage, improper eaves sloping, and tree overhang that causes plugged eaves and downspouts from debris. Found this at a home inspection last week. This flexible metal dryer duct was more than 15’ long! Keep exhaust duct as straight and short as possible. Exhaust systems longer than the manufacturer’s recommendations can extend drying times, affect appliance operation and may encourage lint build-up on pipe lining which poses a fire hazard. If you have flexible duct in your home, make sure you get it cleaned annually to keep your family safe. 🔥 🏡

Here you can see the test cap is still on this floor drain. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Yes, it’s cracked and allowing water into it but it should’ve been removed when the house was built in 2007. It’s important to make sure your home’s drain is free of dirt, debris, or anything that can reduce its performance to do what it’s meant to do in the event of an emergency. 🏡 🌊
