Throwback to this demolition project 🧱

Sometimes development means saying goodbye to what was there before, not because the past doesn’t matter, but because communities continue to grow and change.

Removing an old building creates an opportunity to make space for something new: places for people to live, work, gather, and connect.

As developers, our role is about more than buildings. It’s about understanding what a community needs today and helping create the places that will shape its future.

We know that this building held a lot of memories for Saskatoon residents, including our own staff, so we have saved some bits and pieces from the demo, so stay tuned to see how we feature those in The Wesley!

Horse Shoes at The Wesley 🐴

Back when our general contractor wrightconstructionwesterninc was excavating our site along Broadway Ave in Saskatoon, they dug up about 90 horseshoes. At the time we simply just thought that this was a super neat find, but we then learned that this is a piece of Saskatoons history!

Low and behold there is a blacksmith history here, dating back to 1908. The last blacksmith to occupy 904 Broadway Ave was John Storr from 1914 to 1929. These are photos from his shop.

These horse shoes are currently sitting in our office and we are patiently waiting to display these in The Wesley!
