For those who don't know me here's a little background.....
I am originally from a small town called Ilderton in Southern, ON, not to far from London, ON. I grew up in a farming community, with my older brother, with very hard working parents. Growing up, sports were a big part of our family and I was heavily involved with baseball, hockey and track for many years. I am educated in Culinary and B
usiness skills and got into the real estate world for the first time back in 2002. Through the years I've had the opportunity to work with and learn from so many great people. In 2009, I married my wife, Wendy Hord (Hawdon) who is originally from and grew up on St. We made many trips up to the Island to visit family, where I really fell in love with the north and got "bit" by the northern bug. Fast forward a few years, and we had two handsome boys, joining Wendy's already two beautiful daughters for a fun blended family of four. In 2019 we had the opportunity to move back to the North. It was a fun, adventurous, involved, emotional and major move as COVID-19 had just hit, we were saying goodbye to family and friends there, and we were securing new work in the Sault. I moved up first ahead of the family, starting a job with the Stewart Team in Jan 2020. Wendy stayed back for a short time to finish up her coarse she was taking, and packing the rest of the house. Wendy and the boys joined me in the Sault at our new place in April, got everyone settled, and started her new position at the time at Sault Police. The next two years were great, reconnecting with family, old friends and new from the north (social distance style) digging into our careers, and on days off taking in a little downtime with some: fishing, sun on the beach, spending time with the kids and our new dog "Bean" on adventures. My family and I currently reside in central Sault Ste Marie. My hobbies are cooking, BBQing, college football, reading, new technology, travelling, learning new skills and teaching my kids about life. Side note; I may have won an award for my giant pumpkin I grew, (weighing in at 410lbs). Some of our favorite northern things to do are: Picking berries at Thompsons Farms, Hiking at Hiawatha, Whitefish Island and the hub trails, Snowshoeing, Ice Cream at the the Trading Post "Moose", Kayaking on the Northshore, Annual blueberry picking and bear watching tip in Wawa, Swimming at Pointe Des Chenes, and Beach Beech, Saturday Mill Markets, lunch on the patio in Hilton Beach, coffee at the Copper Bean and a multitude of pizza options!! Other events in the Sault and area that we cant wait to attend in person post COVID are Local Community Nights, Bon Soo, local Festivals and Concerts! My wife has a multitude of interests and talents, including photography/videography, organizing, cooking, baking, art, most outdoor activities and a good campfire. We have two boys ages 10 and13, and two girls 19 and 22. My boys are involved in the local 2310 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps program, as well as local YMCA, and music programs. Our girls are educated and in the working world as a Paralegal and Lab technician. Needless to say, we are loving being in the North, being close to our family that is here, having nature at your fingertips and some really talented and great city and country folks! I'll be sure to share some pics of the family as well. They are a huge support to me. Wendy now works as my business assistant as things have really ramped up in the industry and she takes care of some of the behind the scenes jobs/tasks that make a business run extra smooth, allowing me to give my clients the attention they deserve. Like they say... behind every successful person is a supportive family! I am a lucky guy.
