I had the pleasure of spending the last five days in Montreal for the Airbnb Community Leaders Summit — my fourth year attending, and I have to say, this was the best one yet. ❤️

I feel incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity by Airbnb to represent the BC Interior, Kootenay and Columbia-Shuswap Host Community.

Spending almost a week surrounded by brilliant minds, dedicated hosts, and such an enthusiastic group of community leaders always fills my cup. I come home inspired, energized, and genuinely excited for the next chapter of this journey.

While I can’t broadly share everything I learned during my time at Airbnb’s Montreal HQ, I can say there are some very positive and exciting things ahead for the short-term rental industry — and we are so excited to be part of that growth.

What I CAN tell you is that we came home with a bank full of knowledge, ideas, and inspiration that we’ll be implementing across our rentals and within our host community.

And… we may just have a few very exciting announcements of our own coming soon. 👀

40 hours in the North Shuswap.

Arrive Friday before dark. Settle in, kick your feet up and forget what time it is.

Saturday morning, chase a waterfall at Evelyn Falls. Spend the afternoon somewhere local, discovering the small businesses and places that make this community what it is. Then head back for dinner, a fire and a quiet North Shuswap night.

Sunday morning? Coffee, the lake and absolutely no rush.

You don’t need a long vacation to escape for a while. Sometimes 40 hours is enough to slow down, explore somewhere new and remember what weekends are supposed to feel like.

Now the evenings are getting cooler, the colours are beginning to change, and the lake is settling into a quieter kind of beautiful.
