Looking for a different life in 2026? Ready to get out of the city and live by the beach? Are you retired, or work from home, and want a backyard made of rocks and trees instead of concrete? If the answer is yes, then you might be looking for Sointula on Malcolm Island. Our rentals are all inclusive: cable tv, wifi, hydro, garbage, laundry facilities and parking included.
We are on a low bank pebble beach great for walking, kayaking, and paddle boarding.
There is salmon and halibut fishing out in front of your private decks and we have beautiful clean drinking water.
This is a private secure building which is quiet and has no mosquitoes. Leave your patio doors open all night and listen to the waves on the beach outside your window.
Rents start @ $950 per month and suites are available starting @ $2000 per month. These are short or long term rentals.

Calling all seniors, or anyone looking for a quiet place to spend the winter- or the rest of their life- like we did: we are looking for either short term or long term tenants. Our apartments and suites are all self contained and many have ocean views- some with balconies. Malcolm Island is ideal for writers, artists, musicians or anyone who loves nature. We are pet friendly. Rents include hydro, cable, wifi and all utilities.
There is a bus that travels between down island and Port McNeil or Port Hardy. We are a 20 minute ferry ride away from Port McNeill. Seniors travel free on Tuesday- Thursday. Sointula has a Co-op Store and everything you need to be happy here.

Right now we have 2 bedsitters available @ $950 per month which includes everything.
There is also an oceanfront suite with private balcony @ $2000 per month- all inclusive.
We require excellent references.

Calling all writers, artists, seniors or anyone looking for a quiet place to spend the winter- or the rest of their life- like we did.
Summer is almost over and we are looking for either short term or long term tenants. Our apartments and suites are all self contained and many have ocean views- some with balconies. Malcolm Island is ideal for writers, artists, musicians or anyone who loves nature.
But mostly what we have is space- lots of space. If there are artists who are looking for studio space and living accommodations this could be perfect for you. Rents include hydro, cable, wifi and all utilities. There is a bus that travels from down island to Port McNeill and then we are a 30 minute ferry ride away. We also have an opening for a very part time housekeeper if you need a bit of an income to support your art habit. (There are lots of artists here so we know.) Email is best and then we can talk.
