Our family story with Eagle Lake began in the early 1950’s when my grandparents rented Fay Boyd’s father’s cottage on Scarlett Road. Frank and Christine Speight fell in love with the natural environment and people of Machar and Eagle Lake. In 1953, the Speights purchased a lot and built the first log cabin. In 1969 my parents, Wayne, and Margaret Cunningham, built our second cottage on the family

property. When the property was transferred to my parents after my grandparents passing in the 1990’s, the family chose to use short term rentals to keep the property infrastructure were maintained. Today, we responsibly rent our second cottage , the Kids' Cottage during the spring and fall months for long weekends and full weeks to 2 -4 guests (max 4 adults). AMENITIES at the Kids' Cottage:
Lakeside beach plus 400' of private shoreline, with 2 private coves and unobstructed lake views
2 Bedrooms with Queen Bed, 1 Bedroom with 2 Bunk Beds
Fire Pit and Napoleon BBQ, Outdoor Lakeside Dining, Muskoka Chairs, Beach Loungers, Luxurious Outdoor Shower, Lakeside Tree Swing, Hammock
Watercraft - 1 Canoe, 3 Kayaks, 2 SUP, 1 Paddleboat
Docking available on-site - NO JET SKIS PERMITTED
Lawn Games - Badminton, Croquet, Bocce, Ladder Ball, Corn Toss,
Games & Media Library - selection of board games, cards, dvd's and books
Linen & Beach Towels
Kitchen Appliances include: Dish Washer, Microwave, Coffee, Water Cooler, Serving & Cooking supplies

As we prepare to celebrate my parents' 61st wedding anniversary, it feels like the perfect time to share a new chapter in the story of Twin Coves.
These new photographs, along with a logo, capture more than a collection of buildings, decks, docks, and lakeside views. This story reflects almost 75 years of love, hard work, stewardship, and family traditions with a family who dreamed of creating a place where generations could gather, reconnect, and make memories together.
Over the years, my parents carefully curated Twin Coves into much more than a family cottage. They created a place where children learned to swim, water ski, where grandparents shared stories around campfires, where friendships deepened on docks and decks, and where countless sunsets reminded us what truly matters.
Every stone path, every garden, each cottage, every canoe, every gathering around the waters edge is part of our story.
The refreshed photography showcases the beauty of the property, but more importantly, it reflects the warmth, authenticity, and sense of belonging that have always defined Twin Coves. From quiet mornings on the lake to evenings spent with family and friends under the stars, these images celebrate a way of life that has been lovingly shaped over generations.
As our family looks toward the future, we do so with deep gratitude for the foundation my parents built. Their commitment to family, community, hospitality, and creating meaningful experiences continues to inspire us and will guide Twin Coves for generations to come.
Happy 61st Anniversary Mom and Dad. Thank you for giving our family a place to belong, a place to reconnect, and a legacy worth preserving.
