Laurel & Lace • Flower and Plant Shop is the epitome of small business - Charlene + I are the only staff coordinating a daily storefront, active online presence, events like markets, workshops + weddings, and tending to both of our busy households behind the scenes. To say it’s been a challenge in the past 6 months to keep a storefront alive + well is a huge understatement!

We have had to shift hours to accommodate our children’s busy activities + sometimes we have random days where we may have to close early or altogether because one of our children are unexpectedly sick; a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has shown us grace + patience in these early parenthood years while we juggle our flower shop duties. Despite the challenges, we always show up + fulfill all of our pre-arranged promises, regardless of how big or small the order is (sometimes with 4 little ones in tow)!

Of course small businesses want to make a healthy profit - in fact, we have to, to survive. There are busy days, then there are quiet weeks; there are bustling seasons, then there are scary years - like we are in right now.

So I want to challenge everyone who reads this: PLEASE support small business whenever you can! Because when you support a local business, you’re not just supporting a business - you’re supporting a family, a dream, locals, your community + small town living! Of course we’d love a visit or phone call this week, no matter how large or little the order is - even just to chat!

We grew up in this area. We know + love this community + the people who make it. We truly love + appreciate doing what we do (having a chance to create living floral art for our community member’s most meaningful moments) + we genuinely care to make a difference in the community we serve. This isn’t just about flowers for us, it’s about serving people!

So please come support us! And while you’re at it, support the other small businesses in our community, too. We appreciate every single customer + we know our fellow small-business owners feel the same way. Thank you for believing in local businesses + our community.

🖤 Gift Certificates are a great way to surprise someone

This week we had the awesome experience to show up to a new Mom’s home and help her out + we showed up with flowers that we picked up by request of the customer for this new Mom!
