If you live in Parkland County... IKYK. BUT - if you DON'T live here and haven't expored this hidden GEM located 20 minutes outside West Edmonton - you're missing out!
Our local parks are basically nature showing off. Get your Google Search ready becuase I'm leaking the local spots...
Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area – Trails so endless your Fitbit gives up. 🚴♀️
Jackfish Lake Recreation Area – Swim, fish, splash, boat, or ice fish when winter turns your cold side into your best friend. 🚤❄️
Hasse Lake Recreation Area – Perfect for sneaky snacks, birdwatching, and pretending you know way too much about local bird species. 🦆
Wabamun Lake Provincial Park – Beaches, camping, boat rentals, trails… with amenities so comfy you’ll wonder if nature upgraded.
Alberta Beach – A top-rated lakeside hangout with sand, sun, and self-respecting beach selfies required.
River access spots (aka “secret hangouts that make your Insta stories look artsy”):
Constable Chelsey Robinson Park – Riverside views, perfect for those “deep thoughts” or epic dog pics.
Pembina River Provincial Park – Hike the gorge, tube the river, maybe meet a moose?
Prospectors’ Point – A chill fisherman’s dream with river vibes on tap.
Living here isn’t just about owning a house; it’s about claiming your “outdoor adventure” status in your community. 🏡🌲
Here are some photos of my family enjoying just a few of our hidden gems - and yes, Hubby caught a fish that day at the river...
So! What’s your go-to nature escape? Drop your fave park or river spot below—I might “totally accidentally” show up there this weekend with a coffee or two. 😉☕️
