2024 is the latest building code requirements IN Ontario. Lately some professionals etc been implying different references. (There is the 2024 Ontario Building Code and the 2020 National Building Code of Canada. )

? The 2024 edition of the Building Code is the eighth one Ontario has released in just under fifty years.

Ontario’s first Building Code, published in 1975, was just over 500 pages long, with imperial measurements (feet, inches, and pounds) and was largely based on Canada’s National Building Code. It included dedicated sections showing where the Ontario Code differed from the National Code.

The 2024 Code goes back to its roots by re-harmonizing with the National Code in many sections, eliminating over 1,700 technical variations between the provincial and national requirements.

Do you have a private drinking water well?

It’s important for property owners with private wells to test their water regularly, as it can be contaminated by bacteria like E. coli without any visible signs.
