Remember when supper came with exactly two choices?

Take it or leave it. 😂

There was no:
“Can you make me something else?”
“Is there another option?”
“I don’t eat onions.”
“Can we order pizza?”

Mom wasn’t running a restaurant and Dad definitely wasn’t leaving a Yelp review. 🤣

You sat at the table, ate what was served, kept your elbows off it, and prayed nobody mentioned the peas still sitting on your plate.

Phones weren’t allowed at the table because… well… they were attached to the wall. 😂

And if it rang during supper?

Nobody answered it!

Imagine that kind of excitement today. 🤣

We may have had fewer choices back then, but somehow we had more conversation.

And when Mom yelled, “SUPPER!” you didn’t text back “K.”

You RAN. 😂❤️

Three years ago, we opened the doors of the Retro 1946 Villa with a simple hope—to create a welcoming place for visitors to St. Walburg…we’re feeling incredibly grateful.

To every guest who has stayed with us…thank you. Whether you were here for work, a family visit, a lake getaway, a special event, or simply passing through, you’ve become part of this building’s continuing story.

This little 1946 building has worn many hats over the decades—from the first MacLeods Store, to a butcher shop, dry cleaners, hair salon, and now a cozy Airbnb. We feel privileged to be its caretakers and to share a piece of St. Walburg’s history with each guest who walks through the door.

Thank you for your kind reviews, thoughtful messages, and for supporting a locally owned small business. Your encouragement has made these past three years more rewarding than we ever imagined.

Did You Know?

St. Walburg grew rapidly after the railway arrived in the 1920s, transforming Main Street into the heart of the community. For generations, businesses like G.F. Betz Meat Market, MacLeod’s Store, and Boser Dry Cleaners served local families from this very corner.

Today, Villa 1946 and Nevaeh Spa are proud to continue that tradition of welcoming people through its doors.
