Today marks 3 years since my brother died. It seems like he was here just yesterday but also like he’s been gone forever. As you grow up you never think of a time in your life that you will be without one of your siblings. Jaime was a huge part of me for the first 36 years of my life and I never thought he would be gone. We were fortunate to be living together thru covid and that I was able to step away from work and be with him nearly every day while he was sick. When he was first diagnosed with stage 4 of a very rare stomach cancer in June 2021, we were told he would have years with us. So when I said goodnight and see you in the morning to him I had no idea that would be the last time he said it back to me.
I will never be able to forget being startled awake by my phone early that morning, the panic in my moms voice, the chaos of emergency vehicles as I turned the corner onto his street, him laying on the floor surrounded by paramedics, my best friend/sister in law sobbing uncontrollably, us rushing to the hospital to meet my dad and my other brother Jesse and waiting to hear what the doctors had to say. Then within 24 hours having to do the unthinkable and say our final goodbyes to him.
I just thought we had more time 💔

Cherish every single second you have with the ones you love. I would give up everything to just have more time with him. Time for him to be with his family and watch his beautiful daughter grow and all of our loved ones to be together.
