Most rental buildings are built with wood frame. Centreville isn't.

We used Cold Form Steel and concrete floors throughout — not for the sake of it, but because it changes how the building actually lives. Concrete floors mean an STC rating around 62, well above the roughly 50 STC you'd get in a typical wood-frame building. In plain terms: footsteps upstairs, dropped keys, late-night TV. You mostly won't hear it.

It's also why the building is non-combustible, more resistant to mold and foundation issues, and structurally different from most of what's going up around it.

Some things you notice right away. Others you just stop thinking about, because they were never a problem.
