NOMAD Micro Homes

NOMAD Micro Homes NOMAD manufactures eco-conscious tiny-home and office kits in Canada and ships them worldwide.

Affordable housing matters—the primary impetus for creating the NOMAD Cube. Knowing that size and technology have a direct effect on construction costs, NOMAD’s husband-and-wife founders prioritized designing a small modular home without compromising quality or livability. Providing an option for DIY assembly was also key, given that labour is the highest cost component of home construction. NOMAD

also takes advantage of computer-driven fabrication to ensure that components fit perfectly every time and facilitate assembly by non-skilled labour. Comprehensive, easy-to-follow instructions allow the assembly process to be completed in just days. Our NOMAD Cube is the result of an exciting product development journey within a centuries-old industry that has experienced little change. We’re continuing to grow, and we’re committed to exploring new solutions for affordable and sustainable living.

Ten days. That's all it took for our homeowner Ross and his crew to get his buttoned up tight and move-in ready on the shores of Cabot Strait in Nova Scotia. No complicated site prep. Minimal impact on the land. And strong enough to survive the wrath of Hurricane Fiona completely unscathed.

The Cube's technology made it easy for Ross to build his tiny home steps away from the Atlantic Ocean — just look at the oceanfront view he wakes up to in his king-size bed! In reflecting on what he loves best about life in his NOMAD Cube, Ross says, "I feel so connected to the expanse outside; it doesn't feel cramped or confining in any way." 🌊

There's no limit to the the ways you can customize your Cube to express your tiny-house design aesthetic. And if you need more space, we designed our modular tiny homes to be connected easily, so you can create your perfect holiday spot.

At this serene getaway on Vancouver Island, owner Kate wanted to blend into the rugged beauty of Tofino's wild west coast. She chose rustic elements for her NOMAD Cube, including cedar siding, live-edge wood countertops, and natural wood trim. Bright splashes of teal that accent the space evoke the nearby Pacific Ocean.

Did you know that we designed our to accommodate a full-size stacking washer and dryer? Doing laundry in a tiny home isn't a chore that's always front of mind — that is, until it comes time to actually getting it done! 🧺

Martha and Steve put their washer/dryer in the NOMAD Connect hallway that joins their two Cubes, but there's also space for this stacking unit in a single Cube in the alcove beside the kitchen. ✅

Surrounded by nature in the . 🌲 Rounding out Martha and Steve's interior repainting of their two connected Cubes at Raven's Perch is the soothing shade of green they chose for their living room. Cast Green from Home Hardware to be precise.

First and foremost, "it matched the mural which was the main reason," says Martha. "I tend to go very intuitively with colour and this particular shade of green just felt right. Because we have the forest as a backdrop, when I’m looking out the window, the wall almost disappears."

In doing an interior-paint refresh for their two connected NOMAD Cubes at Raven's Perch, Martha and Steve opted for a deep yellow in their kitchen. "It's Benjamin Moore Turmeric," says Martha. "We chose it because it's warm and strong, and it works on the big window wall because it's so bright there!"

The white walls of our are a perfect blank canvas for your aesthetic expression. Which colour would you choose? 🎨

Each homeowner in our NOMAD Family sources and installs the loft access of their choice, whether it be spiral stairs or a ladder. Mike uses his backyard in sunny San Jose, California as a multi-purpose ; as a flex space for his family, it serves as a quiet home office, music studio, workout area, and guest suite — all separate from the main house. He opted to custom-build a ladder instead of a compact staircase and chatted with us about his choice:

"It’s been a busy few months with our little one, but we finally got this library-style ladder and hardware installed! We went with this arrangement because we didn’t like permanently taking up floor space with a spiral or other stair.

Rising the towards the loft access would be typical, but it meant backing your butt into the big window on the way down. So we went with this towards-the-wall arrangement because it rises to keeps the floor space clear when not in use. It avoids backing into the window, and the powder-coated grab-bar hardware it feels very natural getting on and off at the top.

I crafted the ladder from 2' x 6’s myself, but the library and grab bar hardware came from https://www.etsy.com/shop/CountryNeighbors."

Fantastic build and install, Mike — looks great! 🌟

"It's just enough space for everything I need, And the giant windows give me a wonderful view to wake up to every morning!"

Our has space enough to share with your precious pets—just ask Martha, Steve, and their teenage daughter at Raven's Perch! They live in their two connected Cubes with two sweet cats: Max and Gracie.

The upstairs loft and floor-to-ceiling windows give the kitties and their owners a gorgeous view of the great outdoors. Martha and Steve have also built an attached catio, enabling their feline friends to enjoy nature while being protected from predators. In Max and Gracie's eyes, in the NOMAD Cube is the cat's meow! 😻

We designed our modular NOMAD Cube to be a big little house with a kitchen that really cooks!

🌟 Tiny-house living doesn't have to mean settling for a hotplate or cooktop. There's ample room in the for both a four-burner range and a microwave.

🌟 An entire wall of kitchen cupboards provides loads of storage space.

🌟 You'll see bar fridges in a lot of tiny homes, but not in our NOMAD Cube. Our kitchen layout accommodates a full-height apartment-size fridge, and there's even space for a stacking washer and dryer in the alcove.

On the fence about buying a of your own? Don't just take our word for it: NOMAD Family member Nick spells out how he and his Dad made their decision.

"All right, we decided to go with the NOMAD Cube over other tiny-home options for a couple of reasons. Number one was the design. We loved how modern it is we loved the layout and thought the use of space was really well thought out. And also just the size in general — we thought it was the perfect size.

And then beyond that was the build quality. The steel framing was actually a huge plus for us. We liked the idea of not having to worry as much about termites, mould stuff like that. So yeah, really the design and the build quality was what it came down to."
