“Be careful about telling people that you have another job. They’ll think you’re not serious about real estate.”

I heard it a lot when I first got my license a couple of years ago. It didn’t sit right with me, but I was also 41 and a newb to the industry. The exciting front line that I found myself standing on was vastly different than the one that I was used to. So I listened to them….until now.

For 16 years (and counting!) my days have mainly consisted of raising our 3 boys at home and strapping on a bulletproof vest at work. For the last 8 years, I’ve worked mainly behind the scenes as HR, payroll and admin for our (pretty decent, if you ask me 🙌) family landscaping business.

In the past 7 days I’ve been a goalie mom (I have 2 goalies in travel sports, naturally lol), met with developers to discuss new business, spent an afternoon firing my duty pistol on the range (so therapeutic!!), kept a few POS out of our awesome country, and FINALLY started rebranding my real estate business into what I envisioned it to be…AUTHENTIC.

We don’t all the vibe the same. And that’s ok. But I don’t think ANY of us have the time (nor the energy), to consistently pretend to be something we’re not. I’ve busted my ass to get here. And I’m not apologizing for that. 🫶💃👑
