Welcome to 2025, where your home has to work a little harder.

I'm not saying that homes aren't selling (they definitely are) but this isn't 2021 anymore. Buyers have more choice. Which means your house could be one of many that buyers are looking at.

Here's what I'd do do really make my home stand out (and it doesn't have to be big-budget items).

#1 - declutter the house.

I cannot stress this enough. Buyers want to see the space, not your stuff.

#2 - deep. clean. -- let me repeat that. DEEP. CLEAN. Clean things you don't even think about sometimes: the walls. the baseboards. Vacuum inside the closets. Get that ceiling fan dust off. How long has it been since you dusted the tops of your kitchen cabinets? If you have to ask yourself, 'should i clean this?' the answer is almost always, YES.

#3 - Fix the little things (burnt-out bulbs, loose handles, scuffed walls & baseboards) these are simple fixes that make a huge imapct.

#4 - Stage it to feel bright, simple, and welcoming. If you need help, this is what your realtor is for. Don't think you have to do this yourself.

And most importantly, price it for the current market conditions. If I wanted, or needed, to sell my house this year, following these little things ensure your home doesn't sit on the market.
