IABA is thrilled to have attorney Atoosa Vakili as a distinguished speaker on our immigration law panel at IABA’s national conference February 25th!

An alumnus of the University of San Diego School of Law, Atoosa was admitted to the California Bar and the 9th Federal District in 1989. She had obtained her bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University of NY in Math/Computer Science & French Language and Literature. Atoosa started her legal career in civil litigation and
business transactions law. In 2009, she founded US Immigration Legal Services to concentrate on US immigration law. Her practice is focused on family, employment-based, and investment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visas.

Atoosa is an active member of California Bar, the American Immigration Lawyers
Association (AILA) and the Iranian American Bar Association (IABA). She has served on the board of the Orange County chapter of IABA, as well as on the IABA Foundation board, focused on legal education programs, conferences, and law student scholarships. She has served as Advocacy Liaison for the Southern California Chapter of AILA and on the Consular Liaison Committee of AILA’s RDC/EMEA section. Atoosa is an active supporter of AILA’s education series and regularly serves as a speaker on immigration panels at AILA conferences.

On a personal level, Atoosa has served as a board member of charities and NGOs focused on improving the lives and careers of immigrants and under-served communities. She has served on the board of CHILD International, Santa Ana, CA and remains active as a volunteer and supporter. She continues to serve as a board member of OMID Multicultural Institute for Development, based in Irvine, California. OMID provides linguistically and culturally competent and affordable mental health
services to those who struggle with mental illness and/or have survived traumas and adversities.

There were 7,825 homes sold in the month of September, according to the latest data from the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB), marking a 22 per cent increase from the same month last year when 6,414 homes were sold. However, sales remained well below the September 2016 peak of 9,800 homes sold.
