This Thanksgiving, NPLH Drilling is giving back to our community.

We will be providing 10 Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets to local families who could use a little extra support this holiday.

Each basket will include a turkey, fresh locally sourced produce from Grey Wolf Gardens, stuffing, cranberry sauce, fresh buns and a pie. Everything needed to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner at home.

🚒 PLEASE GIVE US ROOM TO WORK 🚒

Over the last several large fires in our community, we have experienced an increasing problem with people coming to the scene to watch what is happening. In some cases, the congestion has become significant enough that police have been required to direct or block traffic so emergency crews can operate safely.

When a fire occurs in an area without fire hydrants, our challenge becomes even greater. Tankers must continuously shuttle water from a water source to the fire scene. These large emergency vehicles need clear roads and enough room to safely travel back and forth. A vehicle blocking or slowing that route can interfere with the water supply firefighters are relying on.

We understand that seeing smoke, emergency vehicles and a large fire naturally draws attention, but a fire scene is an active emergency, not a spectator area.

Please do not drive to an emergency scene to see what is happening. Avoid the area, keep access roads clear, follow the directions of police and emergency personnel, and give responding apparatus plenty of room.

Every minute counts. Every load of water counts.

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
25 YEARS LATER

Today marks 25 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 — a day that forever changed our world and our fire service.

On that morning, four commercial aircraft were hijacked.

American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 were flown into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.

American Airlines Flight 77 was flown into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.

United Airlines Flight 93 crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers and crew courageously fought back against the hijackers. Their actions prevented the aircraft from reaching its intended target.

We remember the 2,977 innocent people who lost their lives that day at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and aboard the four aircraft.

We especially honour the 343 FDNY firefighters who answered the call and never returned home. They climbed the stairs of the World Trade Center while thousands of others were making their way to safety.

We also honour the law enforcement officers, paramedics, military personnel, emergency responders and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage that day.

And we remember the many firefighters, first responders, recovery workers and others who have since lost their lives or continue to live with illnesses connected to their work at Ground Zero and the other affected sites.

Twenty-five years have passed, but their courage and sacrifice have not been forgotten.

From the members of the Timmins Professional Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local 535, we honour all those who were lost, their families, and everyone whose life was forever changed on September 11, 2001.
