Day 1 in Vienna 🇦🇹❤️

We’re here! After all the planning, packing, worrying about what would fit in two backpacks… we finally made it to Europe!

And what better way to start our five-week adventure than getting on bikes and exploring Vienna?

Blue skies, sunshine, the Danube, beautiful architecture, a few wrong turns and lots of smiles.

We rode, we explored, we laughed… and yes, we may have already worked up an appetite.

Our European adventure has officially begun!
Five weeks. Two backpacks. Five countries.
Let’s see where the road takes us. 🚲❤️

We stopped in Meaford for their 30th Anniversary Scarecrow Festival, celebrating this year with a beautiful theme: Love, Peace & Happiness. ❤️☮️😊

There were scarecrows everywhere, each one more creative and fun than the last, and the whole village had such a wonderful community spirit.

Sometimes the best travel moments aren’t the ones you plan. They’re the little stops along the way that make you smile.

And now… our bags are packed, the adventure is about to begin, and this is officially our last video from home for a little while!

Next stop… Europe! 🌍❤️

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today we pause to remember, to listen, to learn and to reflect.

We must remember the children who were taken from their families, those who never came home, the survivors, and the generations of families and communities who continue to carry the impact.

Let’s not remember only today. Let’s remember every day—and make sure we never repeat horrors like this again.

Good beautiful Tuesday morning everyone! Our last Coffee time from Tobermory… for a little while...

Our next few coffee talks will look a little different. We’re heading off for almost five weeks in Europe, and yes… we’re attempting to travel light.

Two backpacks. Five countries. Almost five weeks.

The plan? Pack the essentials, leave some room, and maybe do a little shopping along the way. I am taking a folding bag with us just in case we're coming back heavier!

We’ll miss our little corner of Tobermory , but we’re pretty excited to take you along for the next part of our adventure.

So… see you next Tuesday from Vienna! They have amazing coffee there!

Yesterday, we joined Tobermory Wave Adventures for their last boat tour of the season — and what a way to end it!

In our view, Tobermory Wave Adventures offers one of the best educational boat tours in Tobermory. Their smaller boats, great captains, and knowledgeable guides make the experience feel personal, relaxed, and full of fascinating stories about this incredible coastline.

The tour takes you on top of the famous shipwrecks, over to Flowerpot Island, and all the way down to the legendary Grotto. And if seeing the Grotto without dealing with the crowds and parking reservation system sounds appealing, this is the way to do it.

We never seem to get tired of this coastline. Every time we’re out on the water, we’re reminded just how lucky we are to call Tobermory home.

It really doesn’t take much to spread a little positivity and keep our connections going, especially in a world that feels so uncertain right now.

We don’t have to agree on everything. We can still be kind, patient and enjoy each other’s company. Don't be afraid to be nice to strangers.

There’s still so much beauty, laughter and goodness in this crazy world of ours. Sometimes we just need to slow down, sit together, have a coffee, and appreciate it.

We stopped by Sandwitches in Wiarton, run by Jessie and Ann — who just happen to be former neighbours of ours here in Tobermory!

You might remember them from Little Tub Bakery. They eventually sold the bakery and started a new adventure with their food truck in Wiarton 3 years ago.

If you know Sandwitches, you know they’re famous for their poutine, pull pork, fish and chips and generous portion!

They’ve also got some fun fall decorating and a little photo booth set up — and this fall they’re adding turkey poutine to the menu!

Not exactly the healthiest food for us… 😂 but sometimes you have to live a little! No mention to our trainer please! 😉

It’s always fun to see people from our little community take their passion somewhere new. So if you’re in Wiarton, go say hi to Jessie and Ann — and maybe treat yourself to some poutine while you’re there!

Happy beautiful ordinary Tuesday everyone!

We started talking about ordinary days… and somehow managed to interrupt each other about 47 times.

But maybe that’s the point.

Life isn’t always the big adventure. Sometimes it’s coffee, errands, work, a little bickering, a lot of laughing — and then looking around and realizing you’re having an ordinary Tuesday in a pretty extraordinary place.

We often travel looking for those special moments, but maybe travel also reminds us to notice the little moments we have at home.

So here we are, interrupting each other by the lake and feeling pretty lucky to call Tobermory home.

Do you and your partner interrupt each other too, or is that just us? And how many times did I say "you know"? 🤣🤣🤣

What a Saturday night!

The 11th annual Pig Roast was another amazing night of food, music, fundraising and community spirit!

What started 11 years ago when AND-ROD CONSTRUCTION (Jose & Amanda) created this fundraiser for The Meeting Place - Tobermory just keeps growing every year. And this year, it turned into a full-on Pig Off between Androd and the Pike team! 🐷🏆

The music lineup was incredible, with John Lacroix, John Newitt, Curtis Oblak and Highway 6 Revisited (Danielle, Madyo, Brad, Nolan & Nick) keeping everyone entertained.

Then Tubratz, two young local DJs, finished off the night—and DJ Maxx brought it all together with an amazing laser show!

This is what we love about living in Tobermory: people showing up, supporting each other, having fun and making memories together.

Congratulations to everyone who made this year’s Pig Roast another one to remember!
