The Region has had a very low decrease in price when comparing May 2023 ($710,500) to April 2023 ($722,076). A big factor for this is that May 2023 had a 34% increase in number of new listings compared to April 2023. The other factor was the anticipated interest rate increase, which was just announced June 7th….25 basis points increase. May was the second highest month over the last 10 months. Given the surge of listings, sellers are obviously feeling optimistic about putting their homes up for sale. It is still a strong market to list in and a great time to buy. Residential properties in general in the region are selling 4 days faster than they were last month. This is a good indicator of consumer confidence.

This is all great news and the atmosphere in the industry feels consistently closer to having a balanced market.

All in all, it has been improving and positive spring.
