I was drawn to Real Estate during my corporate sale and sales management days when I purchased an investment property in The Beach, Toronto in 2004. It’s interesting as I look back that I have enjoyed being involved in some way in important times in people’s lives. I put my self through school as a DJ playing at Wedding Receptions, Wedding Anniversaries and Corporate Christmas Parties. After my DJ business, I started a corporate sales career. I worked for about 14 years in technology including Xerox, Lexmark, Computer Associates and Autodesk where I received exceptional training in customer service and honed my negotiation skills. The business and life coaching I received had such an impact on me I furthered my training with the Coaches Training Institute and established my own coaching practice. My focus as a Coach was working with people of all backgrounds helping them achieve their goals. My orientation to my client’s agenda and confidentiality serves me well in determining and understanding client needs; based on knowledge, trust and confidentiality. People are making significant decisions when buying and selling Real Estate which can be often filled with stress and anxiety. A passion to serve my clients and the skills I have developed can help them make those decisions with confidence. My name is Michael Carr and I live in the Scarborough Bluffs area of Toronto. I am an active and local Real Estate Agent with Re/Max Realtron Realty Inc. Growing up as a feisty youth in a small town in Eastern Ontario, I had an entrepreneurial drive to start a paper route at the age of 10. At the age of 16, I started a disc jockey (dj) business that lasted 8 years. Drawn to the lights and fast pace of Toronto, I moved to the GTA in the 1990’s and brought the small town values with me. I started a career in corporate sales representing Xerox then Lexmark and eventually moved into selling software solutions for Computer Associates and Autodesk. Some of those years were the cause of my hair prematurely turning to “salt and pepper”. It was during this time that my interest in real estate started and I purchased an investment house in the Beaches. My natural interest in real estate led me to a career in real estate sales. I joined Re/Max Realtron Realty Inc. and haven’t looked back. My wife and I love our Bluffs home. We enjoy our social membership at the Cathedral Bluffs Yacht Club.

Greater Toronto Area (GTA) housing market conditions continued to improve in June, with sales growing quite strongly year-over-year while new listings declined over the same period. For the first half of 2026, sales have also edged higher compared to the first six months of 2025, with new listings down substantially.

“After a slow start in the first quarter, we saw a marked improvement in home sales in the second quarter of this year. This result followed TRREB’s 2026 outlook, which called for a year of two halves. We expect accelerating transactions and more competition between buyers in the last six months of the year, helping to satisfy pent-up demand and ultimately resulting in renewed price growth,” said TRREB President Daniel Steinfeld.

GTA REALTORS® reported 6,770 home sales through TRREB’s MLS® System in June 2026 – an increase of 9.4 per cent compared to June 2025. New listings entered into the MLS® System amounted to 17,282 – down by 12.9 per cent year-over-year.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, June 2026 home sales were up month-over-month compared to May 2026, while new listings were down, suggesting that market conditions have tightened through the spring.

The MLS® Home Price Index (MLS® HPI) Composite benchmark was down by 5.4 per cent year-over-year in June 2026. The average selling price, at $1,058,658, was down by 3.9 per cent compared to June 2025.

On a month-over-month seasonally adjusted basis, both the average selling price and MLS® HPI Composite were up slightly compared to May 2026. Source: TRREB
