URGENTLY HIRING - Broker of Record & Head of Compliance
Our firm, a full-service real estate brokerage based out of Toronto, Ontario, helps clients achieve their real estate goals, from first time homebuyers to seasoned real estate investors. We are hiring a Licensed Broker of Record for the Toronto Office. The role is highly visible and the successful candidate will be an integral member of the firms leadership team, providing overall leadership and support to the brokerage, agents and staff. The role encompasses sales, recruitment, stakeholder management, client servicing, compliance and operational management.
Education & Licensing Requirements:
• Registered Real Estate Broker, licensed Broker of Record in good standing with RECO and TREB.
• Additional credentials, certifications and designations will be positively considered.
Skills & Experience Required:
• Real estate management experience is a must
• General Management experience leading a branch, division or team
• Hands on knowledge of residential real estate brokerage and branch operations
• Business operations, financial and administrative management skills
• Coaching & Leadership skills
• Recruitment & Team Management
• Performance management; ability to plan and implement objectives and evaluate performance
• Past sales experience preferred
• Commercial experience is a plus
• Exposure to Financial Services, Mortgages, and Investment portfolios is a plus
More about the role and key responsibilities:
• Full-time commitment to the business and affairs of the brokerage, through consistent leadership to agents, support staff and other brokers.
• Design and implement recruitment strategies to recruit and retain productive agents.
• As Head of Compliance assist Sales Agents and Administration/Support Staff to ensure compliance of all real estate laws, rules and regulations.
• Run regular compliance training to ensure the entire team is up to date on rules and regulations by governing bodies.
• Lead and handle all compliance, audit and legal issues with RECO and TREB with support and input from corporate counsel.
• Handle client complaints and lead issue resolution.
• Handle sales agents’ complaints and conflicts and lead constructive resolution.
• Organize and lead sales meetings, training presentations and branch events.
• Support the Sales Agents, Brokers and Support Staff in the achievement of their professional goals and duties.
• Participate and support in training and development programs.
• Be available and on call to answer any questions from Sales Agents or staff.
• Interview both new and experienced sales agents, introduce them to our program and review policies & procedures with them.
• Build an inclusive and positive office culture promoting teamwork and collaboration.
• Explore opportunities for the brokerage to get engaged with the local community and play a positive and relevant role.
• Stay current on the real estate industry via research, meetings, conferences, and industry networks.
• Participate in weekly and monthly management and leadership meetings.
• Plan, execute, follow-up and report on projects, initiatives and/or proposals as requested by the President and CEO.
