Should you be renovating your unit/home before putting it on the market? 🤔

The truth is, most people shouldn’t.

BUT, the answer is actually more complex than people realize 🧠

What percentage of units that have sold in the last 3 months were renovated vs original? How does that percentage compare to their inventory levels? Are days on market (DOM) impacted? Will it actually yield more $?

If you’re experience with renovating, procuring material, and managing contractors I’d recommend these 5 activities:

1) Cabinets
2) Countertops
3) New or Refreshed Appliances
4) Flooring
5) Paint

Again, in this market the ROI is not always guaranteed! Proceed with caution 🚨

There are six factors I’ve identified that can move condo prices up again:

1) Lower Interest Rates
2) Sentiment Improvement
3) Supply Contraction
4) Increase in Median Income
5) Investor Demand Returns
6) New Government Incentives

The most fundamental point, in my opinion relates to number 4). Long-term, we need steady economic improvement, which will not happen overnight.
