Transparency in real estate means acknowledging that we don't always have all the answers. It means admitting that sometimes, particularly in times of change, the first strategy might not always be the best. Our brokerage has been doing these auctions for over 5 years in the GTA with a TON of unbelievable success, but the truth is, they don't always guarantee a sale and my listing at 25 Sun Valley is just one example of that.

A lot of people have their opinions about what a ban on blind bidding could mean for buyers, sellers and home prices, but the truth is, it's all just opinion until someone actually starts testing the theories and putting the concepts to practice. And the truth is, the concepts and theories change from market segment to market segment, from buyers market to sellers market, and from property to property.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution here, but every time we do one of these, regardless of how they turn out, we always learn so much in the process. It would be a disservice to not share that learning with all of you.
