Get to know your rep!
I support effective regulation. It’s good for the public as well as all the other professionals in the field. That said, regulation in all professions (legal, accounting, etc.) reduces but does not eliminate the risk of unethical behavior; never mind poor performance.
First among the difficulties of buying or selling a home is choosing the right representative. And while many claims can be made, nothing is a better gauge than actual experience with your sales representative. Get to know your professional! Start early. Ask a lot of questions. Get references. Go on showings with them.
I will spend the time with you and don’t require an exclusivity contract until you need to make an offer or put your house on the market.
