Unpopular opinion:

Most people don’t experience enough rejection.

I used to be embarrassed by it.

I’d take it personally.
Overthink it.
Avoid situations where it might happen.

And that’s exactly what kept me stuck.

Because avoiding rejection = avoiding growth.

Here’s what changed for me:

1️⃣ I reframed rejection
It stopped meaning ‘something’s wrong with me’
And started meaning ‘this is part of growth’

2️⃣ I focused less on myself
Rejection feels personal when everything is about you
It gets easier when your focus shifts outward

3️⃣ It taught me the best lessons
Every no showed me something I needed to improve
Every uncomfortable moment made me better

What are some of your biggests rejections in real estate that turned into the best lessons? Share in the comments!

When I started in real estate, I set a weird goal:

Get 100 no’s.

I read a book that talked about re-framing failure.

So I flipped it the typical goal setting and every ‘no’ became a win.

Every action I took, something positve was going to happen

I would get an actual win OR I would get a lesson from the no. something I could improve on or a situation I could learn from.

I naturally got more no’s and it built momentum which eventually lead to more yes’s

I also STOPPED fearing rejection!

this one thing takes the stress out of real estate and allows you to NOT work 24/7.

Being PROACTIVE in our communication

Here are 3 things I do:

- always ending a convo with what I will do, what the client needs to do and when to expect this done

- following up a verbal convo with a written email summary

- discussing best case and worse case scenarios so we are prepared for whatever outcome

yes, a guy in Florida used ChatGPT to sell his house.

What most articles missed was the fact he was a lawyer. So he had a vast understanding of contracts

The concept of a private sale, or a for sale by owner is not a new concept.

But what AI or ChatGPT can’t do is skilled professional unbiassed negotiation

working hard and being available DOESN’T mean 24/7. if you do that you will burn out and your ability to connect and build trust with people is exponentially harder when you’re burnt out

Here’s what I implemented into my business so i don’t work 24/7, yet I’m still available

I’m PROACTIVE

- proactive in my communication with my clients and other agents

- proactive in booking time off and getting appointments covered

- proactive in setting boundaries (certian things need to be done/booked NOW but some can wait a few hours or be done the next day)

- proactive in anticipating events and planning for contingencies

I see a lot of people get into real estate for the ‘more control of your schedule’. It’s like any business and that control and freedom is earned!

I made the mistake of working almost every signle day my first year. I did well but it was sustainable. I’ve found a better wy to be more in control of my schedule yet still be available to everyone who needs me!

Follow along and I’ll unpack how I’ve built my schedule.

when I was a new realtor a coach told me this and it’s stuck with me to this day

he said: the biggest thing that will determine your success is to maintain a positive attitude while you’re not seeing immediate results.

In business and in real estate you work and don’t get directly paid. Your ability to show up with good energy is what builds trust with people. If they sense you’re chasing a commissino check, they will run.

He also told me there are 2 things in life you can control - your attutude and your actions. Focus on those and leave everythign else.

To this day, it’s a message I regualarly remind myself of.

half marathon training (sports in general) have taught me more about real estate than most sales trainings.

It starts with MINDSET and how you show up.

Here are 3 lessons that changed everything for me:

1️⃣ Consistency > intensity
Showing up once in a while and going ‘all in’ doesn’t build a pipeline.
Daily reps do.

2️⃣ Doing hard things when no one is watching
No one sees the calls you don’t make, the follow-ups you avoid, the conversations you overthink.

3️⃣ Type 2 fun > instant gratification
The workouts that suck in the moment…
Are the ones you’re most proud of after.
Same in real estate.

The conversations you avoid?
The ones you’re scared to have?

Those are usually the ones that change your business.

Scripts and strategies are important BUT everything starts with MINDSET
