Bookkeeper for Rental Properties
Maple Projects Inc, a fast-growing real estate investment and property management company, is looking for an bookkeeper who is in the later stages of obtaining their CPA designation.
Ideally, you have a business degree and property management accounting experience which will help you understand the operation.
We are using Rent Manager as the property management software; the bookkeeper needs to be computer savvy and will have the ability to learn new software quickly.
The bookkeeper mainly works alone but sometimes in a team environment - you need to be self motivated, take initiative, meet deadlines, have excellent communication skills, and be flexible working independently or as a team.
Our property management team is highly motivated, hardworking, and driven; the bookkeeper must have the same qualities.

Job Description:
• Full cycle A/R A/P, payroll and month-end accounting/reporting;
• Prepare weekly, monthly and year-end journal entries, adjustments, accruals and financial statements for the properties;
• Review financial aspects of leases;
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets;
• Review A/R on a monthly/bi-monthly basis and work with property managers to reconcile tenant accounts;
• Prepare A/P with supporting documents for approval;
• Prepare monthly bank, inter-company and Rent Roll reconciliations for external review;
• Prepare electronic funds transfers;
• Submit monthly/quarterly/yearly remittances of WCB, Payroll Tax, GST and Corp Tax;
• Effectively communicate financial information to the Owners, Managing Directors, Property Managers, and Leasing Agents;
• Provide financial and analytical assistance to Managers; and
• Perform additional projects/assignments as needed.
Competitive salary based on experience

Salary: $52,000.00+ per year
