Started 2023 on the right foot with lots of work to be done and some changes in the real estate market to be updated on.

Here is a quick sum-up of new good-to-know resolutions that happened so far in 2023:

▫️ New two-year ban on home purchases by non-Canadians, with some exceptions for those with temporary work permits, refugee claimants, and international students.

▫️ New Home Buyer Rescission Period allows the buyer to rescind their offer within 3 days of acceptance of the offer.

▫️ The City of Vancouver raised its Empty Homes tax from 1.25% to 3%, and now the City has approved another increase to 5% scheduled for 2023.

▫️ The B.C. government has passed a new law at the end of last year that stops Strata Corporations from preventing rentals in their buildings.
