There’s something about sitting still and looking back for a moment. As my real estate license renews for a sixth year, I'm incredibly grateful for the people I've met along the way and how this career gave me a new start.

Story time. I was a Chef for nearly 20 years. It was not easy. I worked at some great restaurants. Opened my own restaurant. Made a lot of good food. Felt creative, fulfilled and happy... at times. But, there were too many sacrifices, especially to my mental health. It's a conflicting when you enjoy working but then it leaves you feeling broken over time. Those that have worked in the industry will understand that if you can't take care of yourself - there will be a day when there is nothing left to give.

Thankfully I realized that I needed to make a change. And there it was, real estate... I'll be a realtor! Friends and family were confused. Rightfully so, I had no sales background and am a bit introverted. It was a total 360, but I believed in myself, my work ethic and what I am capable of.

I realized that not everyone wants to hire a stereotypical cookie-cutter agent. Sometimes they want someone a little different, with a unique skillset and perspective. That's me.

New project proposed downtown. 3 towers - one being 80 stories. This will be built across from the old Hudson's Bay. A key piece of land that has been under utilized for years as an above ground parking lot & old office/retail.

Plan includes secondary site proposal at 388 Abbott Street for a new 38 story affordable housing tower across from Woodward's. It will be the largest stand alone addition of social housing in Vancouver's history.

A hotel, condos, rental housing, social housing and an Indigenous art gallery will span several properties, including in the Downtown Eastside.

BC is moving toward legislation that would force cities to approve more development permits in a year in aims to increase the housing supply. The speed at which permits are processed varies from city to city. Vancouver has a lot of red tape and a long process to get through depending on the type of construction project.
