Swipe to travel back in history with this iconic building! The Leeson, Dickie, Gross and Co. Warehouse is an enduring piece of Gastown’s heritage. Built in 1909, this six-storey plus lower-level Edwardian-era warehouse stands as a testament to Vancouver’s industrial past.

Originally constructed as a pivotal trans-shipment hub connecting the railway terminus and Pacific shipping routes, this building represents Gastown’s vital role in global trade. Designed by progressive architects Parr and Fee, it was among the first large-scale commercial structures in Vancouver to use concrete for structural and fireproofing purposes—a groundbreaking innovation at the time.

Paradigm Group proudly sold this historic gem to its current owner, a true lover of design, who carefully restored it to its original glory. Today, the building is repurposed for modern office spaces and it remains a powerful symbol of Vancouver’s architectural evolution and the resilient spirit of Gastown.

🌟 Historic Highlight: Did You Know? 🌟 Vancouver’s iconic Hotel Vancouver has quite the history! There have been three different buildings with that name. The one pictured here is the second Hotel Vancouver, built in 1916 in an Italian Renaissance Revival style by the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). Standing at 15 stories tall, this grand hotel was designed by architect Francis S. Swales. 

🏨 Fun Fact: Famous guests like Winston Churchill, Babe Ruth, and Sarah Bernhardt stayed at the hotel. Its rooftop dining room and dance floor, the Panorama Roof, became a popular spot for locals to enjoy a night out. 
Though the hotel was demolished in 1949, the site where it once stood is now home to the Pacific Centre Mall and TD Tower. While the building itself no longer exists, it played a significant role in shaping Vancouver’s downtown landscape.
