Our special guest at today’s Rotary lunch was Mayor Ken Sim. We had the chance to ask a few essential and pressing questions about our city, and his answers were both thoughtful and encouraging.

For me it was a full and beautiful day. I started with yoga, then joined the international service committee meeting, and ended the afternoon at the lunch meeting with the Mayor. Feeling inspired and grateful for the amazing people and community around me.

In front of Vancouver City Hall, in honour of World Polio Day, I joined fellow Rotarians and community leaders to stand for a cause that continues to change lives around the world.

Since launching its first vaccination project in 1979, Rotary has led one of the greatest global health initiatives in history, helping reduce polio cases by 99.9% and protecting billions of children worldwide. With the continued support of partners like the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the mission remains strong: to keep funding vaccinations, education, and outreach until polio is eradicated everywhere.

As Vancouver City Hall shines red, we renew our promise, to keep fighting, advocating, and giving, until polio is gone, everywhere.
