Be safe on the roads as the snowy weather conditions in Metro Vancouver

Winter driving conditions impact us all. Last winter, 1 in 3 B.C. drivers surveyed witnessed a crash due to winter conditions and 1 in 5 had a near miss or close call! With snow forecast in B.C. this week, make sure you follow these tips and :

❄️ Prep your vehicle with winter tires, clear snow, and check lights. Pack an emergency kit.
🚗 Drive slow, avoid sudden movements, and anticipate turns. Increase following distance. No cruise control on slippery roads.
⏳ Be patient. Plan routes and check road conditions on drivebc.ca. Don't pass snow plows.
🌬️ Watch for black ice. Slow down, increase following distance, and stay alert at intersections.
🚫 When conditions worsen, consider driving alternatives: public transit, taxi, or work from home until roads are cleared.
