Happy Thanksgiving from Meme Brooks 🤎🍂

Today, we’re grateful for the clients who welcome us into their homes and trust us to bring their vision to life, and for the talented people who help make it happen.

There’s something special about seeing a space become the setting for everyday life—family dinners, a crowded kitchen, and one more chair pulled up to the table.

Wishing you a beautiful Thanksgiving filled with good company, delicious food, and memories made at home. ✨

Our signature isn’t one style. It’s how we bring a space together.

The balance of colour, texture and proportion. The mix of statement pieces and personal details. And the way a room feels as good as it looks.

From clean, contemporary spaces to layered, traditional interiors—or something beautifully in between—we design around the people who live there.

Some clients love bold colour. Others prefer quiet neutrals. Our work is finding the thread that makes it all feel cohesive, considered and unmistakably yours.

What’s your style—or are you still discovering it? ✨

A little bathroom, a very big transformation✨

We wanted this space to feel less like an everyday bathroom and more like a private retreat. Rich stone, warm wood tones, frameless glass, matte black fixtures, and layered lighting completely changed the mood.

The darker finishes bring drama, while the natural light and softer textures keep everything feeling calm and balanced.

Proof that you don’t need a huge footprint to create a bathroom that feels luxurious. 🤍

Staging an Arthur Erickson home is a privilege.

We wanted every choice to feel considered, from the furniture to the smallest objects on the shelves. The woodwork and architectural lines are the heart of this home; the staging brings warmth and a sense of how it could be lived in.

It’s a beautiful balance of design history and everyday life.

Life is better with a little decor. ✨
The right pieces do more than fill a room. They bring personality, warmth, and those little moments that make a space feel completely your own.
Art you love. Objects with a story. Textures that make you want to stay awhile. And maybe one piece that serves absolutely no purpose other than making you smile.
Because a home should feel collected, not just decorated. 🤍

It’s all about the details. ✨

The details that make a home beautiful, but also the ones that make it work.

For this project, we leaned into a West Coast modern aesthetic with warm wood tones, natural materials, soft contemporary finishes, and just a hint of farmhouse character.

But look a little closer.

The thoughtful storage. The mix of textures. The way materials connect from one space to the next. The small design decisions that bring personality without sacrificing function.

Because a beautiful home catches your eye.

It’s the details that make you want to live there. 🤍

A little look back before we look forward. ✨

Last year, IDS Vancouver reminded us why we love this design community so much. The materials, the ideas, the craftsmanship, yes, but even more than that, the conversations and the people behind them.

This September, we’re coming back to IDS Vancouver in a very different way.

Meme will be moderating Restoration Over Rebuild: Preserving Design, Reducing Impact on the West Coast, a conversation about something we care deeply about: how we can preserve what already has value, thoughtfully adapt existing homes, and design for the way we live now without erasing what came before.

Joining Meme will be Steve Gairns, Laura Carey, and Glyn Lewis, bringing together perspectives on architecture, heritage, restoration, sustainability, and the future of West Coast homes.

From attending and finding inspiration to now helping lead the conversation. We can’t wait to be back. 🤍

Pinterest: ✨ effortless, beautiful interiors ✨

Meanwhile behind the scenes:

measuring the same wall 4 times
changing the layout again
finding out the perfect chair is backordered
finding another chair
hating the other chair
going back to the first chair
coordinating trades
solving problems nobody will ever know existed
and making approximately 700 tiny decisions so the space can look… effortless.

Because Pinterest shows you the final photo.

It doesn’t show you everything that has to happen to make a home feel beautiful, functional and actually work in real life.

That’s the part we do. 🤝

Colour is never just decoration.

The tones we live with every day can shape the way a space feels — whether it feels calm, energising, intimate, grounded or completely overwhelming.

Warm, earthy shades can create a sense of comfort and security. Softer neutrals can make a room feel quieter and more restorative. Deeper, moodier tones can add intimacy and drama, while brighter colours can bring energy and movement into a space.

And the interesting part is that we often respond to colour before we consciously realise why.

That’s why, when we design a home, choosing a palette isn’t simply about what looks beautiful. It’s about how you want to feel when you walk into the room, how you want to live in it, and what kind of atmosphere the space needs to hold.

Swipe through for a closer look at how different colours can influence the way we experience our homes.

Which colours do you naturally gravitate towards?
