I want to share the story of one of our purchases because this deal turned out to be much more interesting than we expected. 😊
First things first: we weren’t looking for a house with a pool at all. 😄
My buyers had a different dream — a family home in a peaceful, quiet neighbourhood. Exactly the kind of place they had always imagined when they thought, “One day, we’ll have a home of our own…”
And we found it.
The pool just happened to be a very nice bonus. Apparently, future pool parties came with it too. 😂🥂
And that’s when things got interesting.
In today’s very slow market, we unexpectedly found ourselves in a multiple-offer situation.
Seriously? In THIS market? We loved the house, made the decision — and suddenly realized we were going to have to compete for it.
Then, as we started digging deeper into the property, the house kept revealing one surprise after another.
☀️ Solar panels — a significant and useful upgrade that helps reduce electricity costs, including heating the pool.
🎬 A home theatre — definitely wasn’t on the wish list, but nobody was about to turn it down. 😄
🏡 Cork flooring — warm, quiet underfoot, and something you don’t see in every home.
🏊♀️ And, of course, the pool — something we weren’t looking for at all, but ended up being one of the best bonuses.
That’s part of buying a house too: sometimes you discover not only unexpected details, but useful systems and upgrades you didn’t even know you wanted.
In the end, we got exactly what they had dreamed about — a beautiful home in that peaceful, quiet neighbourhood — plus solar panels, a home theatre, cork floors, a pool, and apparently a whole new summer lifestyle. 😂🍹
Sometimes the best things you find are the ones that were never on the original wish list.
And it looks like pool parties are now officially part of the plan. 🥂🏊♀️
