One of the biggest surprises about buying a property in Mexico isn't finding the property.

It's everything that comes after.

When we took possession of our home in Bucerías, we quickly realized that turning an empty shell into a comfortable home required much more than a few furniture deliveries. We needed painters, electricians, carpenters, installers, and a variety of other trades to help bring our vision to life.

Some projects went smoothly.

Others taught us patience.

What I learned is that success in Mexico often comes down to relationships, communication, flexibility, and understanding that things may not always happen exactly as they would in Canada.
