The AIC-BC Board of Directors' Policy & Public Affairs Committee has reinstated its Data Task Force initiative to better understand how access to market and property data affects appraisal practice across British Columbia.

Building on similar work undertaken in 2018, AIC-BC is conducting a Member survey to gather feedback on the data sources and services used by appraisers in their professional practice. The survey seeks to identify how limitations in data access may impact appraisal quality, professional efficiency, and public confidence in the valuation process, as well as the barriers Members face in obtaining the information necessary to complete reliable and credible appraisal assignments.

We encourage all Members to participate and share their experiences. Your feedback is important and will help inform AIC-BC's ongoing efforts to advocate for accessible, comprehensive, reliable, and affordable data resources for the appraisal profession in British Columbia.

The survey will close on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026 (11:59 p.m. PT).
