Does a swimming pool increase the value of your home?

Many factors go into determining if swimming pool is an asset or liability.
While pool can be a luxurious oasis for the home owner, not everyone…believe it or not..wants one. Maintenance is a consideration as it’s an ongoing expense.

While swimming pool can be used most of the year in some climates it’s “unused” space most of the year in colder climates.

Does the pool enhance the landscape of your property?
Luxurious, in ground pools placed in the right location will elevate the space.

From an appraiser perspective the value may be small however right demographic of buyers are willing to pay more for the luxury of having an already existing pool.

US headlines reads that Mortgage rates have dropped for two weeks in a row from 5.7% to 5.3%.
As we closely follow US trends this is something we may be seeing here soon.

Buyers are currently on the sidelines “ waiting to see what happens” but this is the perfect time to buy. It is certainly better that competing against 10 other offers and have no choice but to buy subject free!

Some predict home prices increasing again in early 2023. Don’t wait too long. Remember, you can’t perfectly time the market.
