Plants are always a great addition to any room 🪴 Not only do they add colour and life to a space, they enhance your home's appeal and create a welcoming feeling to anyone who's considering buying your home.

If you're like me and can't keep a plant thriving past the year mark 😩 my super talented friend Cheryl is my go to when I need help with anything plant related like picking plants for a room or rehabbing my struggling ones.

Depending on the area, street, house, and price point, for the most part, the days of throwing a sign in the yard and seeing multiple, above-asking price offers are no longer the case.

Unfortunately, some sellers haven’t gotten the memo — and are sabotaging their home sale. Here’s how:

👉🏼 Neglecting home repairs - buyers notice everything! For the right price some would be willing to do the repairs themselves. Others might walk away. Either way, not taking care of those repairs prior to listing your home could potentially cost you money.

👉🏼 Failing to declutter and stage - cluttered spaces and personal items can make it difficult for buyers to envision themselves in your home. Not sure where to start? Have too many things to put away? This is where I'd recommend to speak to a professional organizer and a stager.

👉🏼 Pricing too high - you want top dollar for your home (who doesn't?), but pricing it too high can cause it to sit on the market for longer than it should — and ultimately sell for less. I see it time and time again - house listed too high only to be gradually reduced in price multiple times until it eventually sells.

Enough was enough! We were constantly struggling with sharing what little space we had, one bathroom, small kitchen, one parking spot, and hardly any room for storage.

The condo life was great for the stage of life we were at initially - starting out, move in ready, lower cost than buying a home, and the added perk of not having to take out the garbage to the curb every week or mow the lawn (it's the little things that count 😬).

Within a couple of years we realized we were outgrowing the space and were increasingly more and more frustrated at the limitations of not have a backyard, minimal storage space, and no room once we had kids.

As soon as we found the home we wanted to move to, we made it happen and it was an amazing feeling ✨
