When I was invited to participate in the Victoria Literacy Connection fundraiser, I said “yes” without asking too many questions. I figured I was showing up to play a trivia game with some colleagues.

What I didn’t realize was that I would be competing on stage in front of a live audience!

Let’s just say that finding that out after arriving was a bit of a surprise. 😆

Thankfully, it turned out to be an incredible evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and a whole lot of community spirit. Benji’s Quiz This was entertaining, the audience was fantastic, and most importantly, the event helped raise funds to support literacy programs for children, youth, adults, and seniors across Southern Vancouver Island.

A huge thank you to Victoria Literacy Connection, the Belfry Theatre, Benji, the event sponsors, and everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, or participated.

Literacy changes lives, and it was an honour to be part of an event that helps ensure these important programs remain available in our community.

And next time someone invites me to “just a trivia game,” I might ask a few more questions first. 😉

Founded in 2016, the Navy Bike Ride brings communities together through cycling while raising funds to support Royal Canadian Navy members, Veterans, and their families as they navigate the unique challenges of military life.

I’m excited to be a part of this great event, support an important cause, and spend the day riding alongside so many dedicated participants. Looking forward to hitting the road with everyone and helping make a positive difference for those who serve our country.
