Happy Monday friends! It's a beautiful day to announce the latest $500 donation from Happy Cat Real Estate! After my most successful sale, the charity chosen was Helping Homeless Cats of Greater Victoria! I received this note from Linda from HHC: This donation from Whitney will help with the care of Sammy. We took 10-year-old sweet Sammy into Helping Homeless Cats three weeks ago. His owner had health issues which were restricting her ability to take care of him. We had just heard about Sammy when she fell and was hospitalized., so we had Sammy dropped off at our vet, Saanichton Village Veterinary Hospital. After an exam and blood panel, this darling kitty was hospitalized immediately with untreated diabetes. His "mom" had not known he was diabetic.

As you can see from his intake photo, Sammy was very thin, not well, and obviously in trouble. He needed treatment, monitoring, and testing to stabilize. Three vets took turns the first weekend coming in to test and give his insulin shots. We are very grateful for SVVH staff for pulling him through his precarious state.

Fast forward to now (the video) and Sammy looks like a different cat! He is thriving! He is on 5 units of insulin now. We are very lucky that a staff member of Village Pets in Saanichton is going to foster him. She has an elderly diabetic dog and can do their shots at the same time every day!

Treating a diabetic is very involved and expensive and it is nearly impossible to get an adoptive home. We are very fortunate to have a trial foster home with an experienced person who loves Sammy. We are scrambling to find funds to cover his expenses, so we are thrilled that Whitney's client chose us for the $500 donation (always given at the time of a sale). This is amazing and covered his intake exam and blood panel plus first insulin. We are very grateful for the help which provided an excellent start for him.

Thank you, Whitney, for helping us save the life of another very sweet kitty. You have been an immense help in saving many kitties' lives over the years with your generosity and caring for rescued kitties. ~ Linda

Thank you from Happy Cat Real Estate to Linda, Helping Homeless Cats of Greater Victoria, Saanichton Village Veterinary Hospital, and to his new foster family! I am so thrilled that Sammy is onto a happier and healthier life!

Good morning friends!

After another successful sale I am happy to announce that ROAM - Reuniting Owners with Animals Missing has been chosen to receive the next $500 donation from Happy CAT Real Estate!

This donation will help the volunteers at ROAM with costs involved with bringing home missing pets. Here is a story from ROAM about a recent Kitty rescue...

Milo went missing from the Borden Street area on August 8. His guardians were very worried about him of course as time went by. They were wondering if they would ever see their beautiful boy again.

About a month later we received a phone call from someone that was sure she had found Milo in Langford. We weren’t really sure if it could be Milo because it was so far away.

We spent quite a bit of time making comparisons and we still weren’t really sure. We were looking at the markings around his eyes and we started to feel more and more like this definitely could be Milo!
In the meantime, she had taken Kitty to the good folks at VCA who were able to do a chip scan.
We had a call into Milo‘s mom at the same time that VCA was calling her to confirm that her beautiful boy was safe!
Kudos to Milo’s family for having him chipped and keeping his chip information updated and thanks to the help from the community for reporting the sighting and following up with ROAM! We couldn't do it without all of the amazing community engagement that we are so proud of at ROAM!

Because all of this came together, sweet Milo is home safely to his family after a month!

Yay for Milo, and thank you to ROAM - Cats
for all that they do! Thinking of buying or selling and want to give back? Call Happy Cat Real Estate today! Putting the MEOW in hoMEOWners!

After my most recent sale (in Shawnigan) my clients chose Cowichan Cat Rescue to receive the next $500 donation from Happy Cat Real Estate! This is the note I received from the volunteers at CCR: Our sincere thanks to Whitney for her generous donation to CCR! We are a federally regulated charity and 100% volunteer organization! This donation will be used to help the "garden shop litter" and their momma for their vet visits, vaccines and spays and neuters before being adopted out to loving indoor homes.
A little momma was seeking a safe place to keep her babies and she chose the garden shop of one of our local grocery stores. In moving her family one got lost and was discovered at 9 pm in the rain in the parking lot mewing loudly! CCR got the call and took steps to get the little guy warm and dry and into a foster while we searched for the rest of the family.
One week later staff found Momma and the rest of the kits, healthy and well with 5 kittens in total. All are now in care and will have a better future thanks to this donation and the folks that support CCR! We couldn't do it without you.

Good morning friends! It's time for another Happy Cat donation with a happy rescue story! After my most recent sale, the charity chosen was the amazing Cat's Cradle Animal Rescue! This donation was extra special because in addition to the $500 from Happy Cat Real Estate, my client who just purchased their home matched my $500 donation, for a total donation of $1000! Huge thank you to Stephanie MacLean from Avalon Cleaners and Laundry (Admirals Walk) for the very generous donation!

I received this note from Cat's Cradle Animal Rescue: Thank you so much for the generous donation from Happy Cat Real Estate and Avalon Cleaners and Laundry! We have had several abandoned adult cats come into our care in the past few months as well as Magda, a 12-week-old kitten found trying to survive on her own. This donation will help tremendously with the costs incurred from these intakes.

Little Magda came into our care when we received a call about a feral kitten that was hanging out in the bushes in the pouring rain. The person who contacted us had been feeding and trying to catch her for a few days. We took a trap over and Magda was caught very quickly.

After a bit of time she gave up her hissing and spitting when she figured out that humans gave comfort and food. In the first couple of days she would hide in the pillows behind her foster parent’s head so she couldn't be seen but she would still be purring away. She’s a real sweetheart!

Yay for Magda, and a huge round of a-PAWS to Cats Cradle and Avalon Cleaners www.avaloncleanersbc.ca!
