Before you write an offer on a home…
Finding a home you love is exciting, but there are a few things I always want my buyers to be clear about before we put pen to paper.
Start with financing. Having a solid pre-approval means you understand what you can comfortably afford and you’re ready to move when the right property comes along.
Then look beyond the house itself. Is it the right neighbourhood? Does the location work for your day-to-day life and your longer-term plans? You can change a lot about a home — you can’t change where it is.
And finally, understand what you’re buying. The age and condition of the home, upcoming maintenance, comparable sales and any property-specific considerations all matter when deciding what you’re prepared to offer.
A good offer isn’t just about price. It’s about making an informed decision before you commit.
