35 feet of river frontage. Steps from downtown Paris. This lot doesn’t come up twice.
18 West River St, Paris.
Morning starts with a walk instead of a drive: the shops and cafes of one of Ontario’s prettiest downtowns are close enough that the car stays parked. Back home, the kitchen opens straight into the dining nook, so breakfast never feels like it’s happening in a separate room from the rest of the house.
The primary bedroom opens right onto the deck, so some mornings can start there instead of at a window. Downstairs, the finished basement adds a lounge and a wet bar for when you’re hosting, plus a guest room with its own bathroom for when someone’s staying over. The garage traded its cars for a gym and a workshop, so whatever pulls you outside your 9 to 5 already has a home here.
But the real pull is out back. Past the hot tub and the deck built around it, the yard runs all the way down to the river, with its own cleared spot at the water’s edge for a fire and a couple of chairs looking out at the water. This is the kind of waterfront most people only get on vacation, except here it’s already outside your back door.
