Let them perform. Let them lie. Let them think they won. Whatever is built on dishonesty always falls apart on its own. You don't have to expose them. Time is patient. Karma never misses.
There's a temptation to correct the record, to make sure everyone knows the truth right now, to argue your side until people finally see it your way. But some things don't need your defense. They just need time, because dishonesty was never built to last. It only survives as long as no one's paying close enough attention, and eventually, someone always is.
You don't have to be the one who exposes it. You don't have to chase down every person who believed the wrong story. Let them have their version for now. It was never going to hold up under its own weight anyway.
This is the hardest part of healing, honestly. Sitting back and trusting that the truth doesn't need your help to eventually surface. Letting go of the urge to prove something to people who weren't ready to see it in the first place.
So let them believe they won. Time has a way of settling every score you didn't have the energy to settle yourself. You don't have to fight for the truth. You just have to outlast the lie.
