It’s 🤪Whiny 😫 Wednesday!
I was going to wait and post this until I had talked to the ; however, I do not think they are going to call me back in due time - I get it, they’re busy 🏃🏻♂️!
This is a pic of my ex in laws’ property they sold over six years ago. 🥺
What stood here prior was the cutest German inspired White home with colourful hanging baskets, a pond full of lively fish, a large swimming pool and patio large enough for some of the most epic 🎉 parties I’ve ever been to. Birthday parties, my wedding reception, baptisms and the like. ♥️
If you’ve ever driven 🚗 down Marine Drive on your way to Eagle Harbour, Lighthouse Park or Horseshoe Bay, I’m sure you’ve seen the “German White House” on the right. 🏡😊
My father in law Wolfgang, had built this with his brother Hans many, many moons ago.
When they decided to sell due to Wolfgang’s failing health, I was quite upset; this house held so many memories. 😢
To make matters worse, the house sold over six years ago and this is what stands in its place. Overgrown trees and grass and now a line up of cars park in front as if it’s a parking lot to go to the not so (anymore) secret beach down the lane.
I am whining about this because why is there no bylaw in place that when you buy a property and immediately demolish the home that once stood, you have a limited amount of time to build? 🧐
This looks absolutely atrocious, it brings property values down and does not add to the community of the neighbourhood. 👎🏻
I won’t say anything more on the topic - I am learning when to zip it; however, Mayor can West Van District stop ignoring this? I know for a fact this isn’t the only property like this in West Van … with all due respect, how many complaints will it take?
Buy a property to rebuild … then darn well rebuild and do it in a timely manner. Period. Six years is ridiculous 🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️
I should probably have some wine later to go with my 🍷😂
