Greetings for the new year, reflections on the old.
2016 was a year of change and adventure. I firmly established myself as a Vancouver based Commercial and Residential Realtor, adept at working from Surrey to Whistler. It was an excellent year and I can state that I sold 100% of all of my listings and closed every Buyer who chose me as their Realtor.
In the last year I managed the sale of numerous assets classes; large Single Family , Apartment Buildings, large scale Commercial Properties, Townhouse complexes, individual strata units and redevelopment sites. After 13 years of real estate and development experience I have found my niche by viewing the entire region as my market.
My primary focus has always been and will continue to be the needs of my clients. Whether I am selling an entry level condo that is an estate sale or negotiating a 39 million contract on a commercial building the client is treated the same, with respect . There are Realtors who will claim that in order to succeed in this industry, you need to be very focused in a specific market. I agree that when you are starting out in your career, focusing and mastering a specific market is an excellent strategy. Although I also believe in constantly expanding that expertise and becoming an expert in many asset classes and markets. Fluency in many markets is the hallmark of true master of the game, in my estimation.
For thirteen years I have focused on improving my ability to help my clients manage their real estate wealth. Whether that is their personal residence or a portfolio of rental properties or commercial assets and multi unit properties. Operating with fluency in a wide range of assets offers my clients comprehensive real estate wealth management . My business has been blessed to work with many members of the same family and I have become their Family REALTOR and attending to the needs of multiple generations. My ability to work in so many asset classes enables me to be a true expert in real estate wealth management.
I have often noted that most people have a family Doctor, lawyer, dentist, accountant or investment advisor , but I often meet people who have never considered that having a trusted Family REALTOR is just as valuable, if not more so. For many of my clients their real estate holdings make up the vast majority of their personal wealth. When you work with an accomplished multi faceted REALTOR, they offer you the ability to take a holistic approach to your holdings and can greatly help you plan for the future and maximize the value of your assets.
The success of my clients and my ability to create value, whether buying or selling, is the cornerstone of the services I bring to them. By offering straight forward advice that is well researched and carefully contemplated. I have a passion for this industry and am constantly trying to improve my knowledge, skills and expertise.
This past year I spent four weeks in a classroom working towards the completion of my CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation. The CCIM designation is internationally recognized as the most comprehensive and detailed commercial real estate designation. It is a designation that less than 5% of commercial brokers attain and offers not only a depth of practical knowledge but access to the most powerful spreadsheet and calculators available for the real estate industry. Despite working with investors and developers for over 13 years it was serious challenge and has made me a much better advisor to my clients.
I will continue to expand my horizons and I look forward to closing a number of land assembly , re-development sites, commercial and multi unit sales that have been in the works throughout the latter half of last year.
