Here's what sellers should know about backup offers 👇

Most of our offers come with subject periods — financing, inspections, document review, etc. Until subjects are removed, there's still a chance the deal could fall apart.

That's where a backup offer can sometimes make sense. 🤝

A backup offer is a fully signed contract that sits in second position behind the accepted offer.

If the first buyer doesn't remove subjects or the deal collapses before becoming firm, the backup buyer can move into first position. 🥇

It's not something that happens with every listing, but in situations where there's strong interest, it can give sellers a bit more protection and momentum. 🛡️

Backup offers need to be structured properly — with clear timelines and wording — so everyone understands where they stand.
