Mom appreciation post ❤️

One of the original pioneer moms of Whistler.

Back when Whistler was much smaller and life in the mountains wasn’t always easy, my mom raised us with so much strength, patience, and love.

Looking back at photos like this makes me appreciate everything the early Whistler moms did for their families and community — and all the moms still doing it today.

Happy Mother’s Day 🌷

The Bank of Canada held its rate at 2.25% today — for the 4th time in a row. 🏔️

Here’s what that actually means if you’re thinking about Whistler real estate:

✅ Your borrowing costs aren’t going up (variable rates still ~3.35%)
Fixed rates are quietly creeping higher due to oil-driven bond market pressure — so if you’re considering locking in, sooner matters

Whistler’s market moves differently than Vancouver or Toronto. Here, it’s less about rates and more about lifestyle confidence, global economic mood, and inventory.

My honest take: if you’ve been watching and waiting, the window is open — but the fixed-rate environment is shifting underneath us.

I’d love to chat through what this means for your specific situation, whether you’re buying, selling, or just curious about where things are headed.

Rate Hold — What It Means for Whistler Real Estate
Today, the Bank of Canada hit pause, holding its overnight rate at 2.25%. No surprises—but plenty happening beneath the surface.
Global uncertainty is back in the spotlight, with the Middle East conflict stirring up energy prices and adding pressure to inflation. Meanwhile, Canada’s economy is showing signs of slowing, with softer job numbers and a bit less momentum than expected.
So what does this mean for buyers & sellers in Whistler?
Borrowing costs remain steady
Inflation is cooling—but rising gas prices could nudge it back up
Economic uncertainty = more cautious buyers, but also opportunity
Even with short-term bumps, real estate in Whistler continues to be driven by lifestyle, long-term investment, and global demand
Whether you’re watching the market or ready to make a move, timing and strategy matter more than ever.
Next rate announcement: April 29, 2026

✨ What a night to remember! Last night’s Whistler Chamber event was unforgettable. I had the incredible experience of touring Whistler from above 🏔️🚁—thanks to for making it possible!
It was especially meaningful for me because my father started one of Whistler’s premier heliskiing companies back in the 1970s—coming full circle to experience these mountains from the skies is something I’ll never forget.
Huge thanks to for an amazing event and for bringing our community together!

Buying your first home? Keep these key tips in mind before making an offer.
• Don’t skip the inspection
A professional home inspection can uncover issues that may not be visible at first glance and help you avoid costly surprises.
• Explore the neighborhood
Visit at different times of day. Pay attention to community feel, traffic, amenities, and lifestyle fit.
• Prepare for miscellaneous expenses
Closing costs, property taxes, insurance, and moving costs can add up quickly — plan ahead.
• Budget for repairs
Even well-maintained homes will need updates or maintenance over time. Set aside a repair fund.
• Consider a home warranty
A warranty can provide peace of mind by covering certain systems and appliances during your first year.
Buying your first home is a major milestone. With the right preparation, it can also be one of the most rewarding investments you make.
