Add your voice to Whistler’s 2026 Official Community Plan (OCP) amendment project.

We are considering updates to Whistler’s OCP to help address the community’s ongoing shortage of employee housing.

We want to hear your thoughts on the proposed amendments that will support new employee housing initiatives, facilitate the implementation of the Whistler Creek West Neighbourhood Plan, and enable potential employee housing on three municipal land parcels in Cheakamus Crossing.

This is a plan for our community. Many steps occur between this plan and future development.

Add your voice to the discussion through an online survey. Your feedback will be considered as part of Council’s decision-making process.

A larger reassessment of our OCP, including the vision and values we want for our community, will be initiated in the next two years.

The survey takes 5 to 7 minutes and runs until September 14 ➡️ https://bit.ly/44MbEpU

Look at this view! Hot weather and smoky skies can be a harsh reminder of the wildfire season, yet tonight the sky is on fire with glowing orange clouds against a deep blue backdrop. Even in difficult times, nature can still leave us in awe. 🌅🔥🧡💙

Bank of Canada Holds Rate at 2.25% — What It Means for Whistler Real Estate

Today’s rate decision brings more stability to the market as Canada’s economy continues to adjust.

For Whistler and the Sea to Sky, the focus remains on confidence, affordability, and long-term value.

After a period of market adjustment, buyers are becoming more active — but they are selective. Well-priced properties with strong locations, quality features, and lifestyle appeal continue to attract attention.

The fundamentals of the region remain strong:
• Limited real estate supply
• Global demand for mountain living
• Strong lifestyle appeal
• Long-term ownership value

A stable interest rate environment may help bring more buyers back into the market, while sellers who understand current conditions will be best positioned for success.

Whistler real estate continues to be about more than market cycles — it’s about location, lifestyle, and long-term opportunity. Curious how today’s rate decision could impact your Whistler real estate plans? Let’s connect and discuss your next move. Contact: Kyoko 604-967-1238

Mom appreciation post ❤️

One of the original pioneer moms of Whistler.

Back when Whistler was much smaller and life in the mountains wasn’t always easy, my mom raised us with so much strength, patience, and love.

Looking back at photos like this makes me appreciate everything the early Whistler moms did for their families and community — and all the moms still doing it today.

Happy Mother’s Day 🌷

The Bank of Canada held its rate at 2.25% today — for the 4th time in a row. 🏔️

Here’s what that actually means if you’re thinking about Whistler real estate:

✅ Your borrowing costs aren’t going up (variable rates still ~3.35%)
Fixed rates are quietly creeping higher due to oil-driven bond market pressure — so if you’re considering locking in, sooner matters

Whistler’s market moves differently than Vancouver or Toronto. Here, it’s less about rates and more about lifestyle confidence, global economic mood, and inventory.

My honest take: if you’ve been watching and waiting, the window is open — but the fixed-rate environment is shifting underneath us.

I’d love to chat through what this means for your specific situation, whether you’re buying, selling, or just curious about where things are headed.
