Well, the strategy is working! That little light at the bottom is our house on the lake. Very grateful no people hurt, and not a twig was lost on our land. This fire is a crazy, powerful, moody beast. At times subdued, and other times evil. Then beautiful. To dance with that energy will be an experience to remember. I felt mostly calm, alert and engaged. Sleepless and alone with the fire for days.

Casper creek wildfire continues to rage at Anderson Lake. Unfortunately things have gotten worse in the past 24 hours and it’s almost down to our place. Helicopters are dropping water at the neighbors driveway which goes off ours at the last switchback before you get to our place.
